Guidance and Counselling
The AREL Schools Guidance and Counselling Department strives to help students to be psychologically healthy, happy and self-confident individuals. They learn to be content with themselves as well as their environment, make individual decisions for problems they face at home and school and develop awareness for the special abilities they have and develop them. Our expert counsellors help the students develop positive relationships, learn themselves better and increase their academic success.
Activities of Guidance and Psychological Counselling Department are based on school-parent cooperation. The department embraces and employs a developmental and preventative guidance approach considering the students’ individual and age characteristics and needs. Services of the department include individual and group guidance and counselling, periodicals for parents, testing and assessment, national exam guidance and career guidance.
Through analysis of student needs, the department organizes relevant seminars for students and parents presented by our own faculty and other specialists. Each academic year, seminars, workshops and conferences are organised to support parents strengthen their parenting capabilities.
The Guidance and Counselling Department prepare monthly/termly journals. One of the periodicals prepared by the expert staff of Guidance and Psychological Counselling Department is “Reflections on Education” which is published twice a year, as one for each semester, and includes tips and advice regarding students of all ages and potential problems.
Guidance services are given especially to middle school students in order to set their vocational interests and to inform them about the high school entrance exams. The school councellers help the students understand and recognise exam stress and offer strategies to help them minimise any harmful effects.
