Scientists of the Future Compete at Arel College News
Attaching great importance to sciences, Arel College has held the 9th Inter-high School Experiment Competition with a great turnout. The competition, which has become somewhat of a tradition, is growing in popularity with more and more schools taking part each year. Organised with the aim of inspiring the scientists of the future, supporting science education in high school, guiding talented students in this field and drawing attention to conducting experiments, Arel College has become home to students from various other schools who take an interest in sciences. 9th, 10th and 11th grade students who participated in the competition this year, conducted experiments in the Arel College laboratories. The experiments conducted were specifically selected to be student-centred, in parallel to the curriculum and contain all the steps of scientific research. Students were informed about the experiment they would conduct and the assessment process during the competition. The assessment was carried out by a jury consisting of faculty members from Istanbul Arel University. The experiments were assessed based on the process and outcomes. During the closing ceremony, the directorates of the schools were awarded with commemorative plaques, all participants were awarded certificates of participation and the students ranking the highest were awarded with medals. To show its green consciousness, Arel College also gave away tree saplings to all participants.
