Richard Henry
Richard Henry has worked in the field of education for nearly 30 years beginning his career in the state and private educations systems of Queensland, Australia. In 2000, Mr Henry moved to Jakarta, Indonesia and worked as the Secondary School Principal during which time the school introduced the IB programmes (DP, MYP and PYP) for the first time. In 2005, Mr Henry became the Head of school for K-12 and worked in this capacity until 2011. During this period he served as a WASC accreditation team member and supported the IB as a member of the Asia Pacific Regional Council and the DP committee. He also helped establish the IB Schools Association in Indonesia. Mr Henry commenced working with the IB in 2011 as the Head of School Services for Africa, Europe and the Middle East, overseeing the authorization and evaluation of schools. For the past 12 months, he has been working as the Head of Development and Recognition in which he oversees the work of the IB with schools intending to implement IB programmes as well as engaging with government ministries and higher education institutions for recognition of the IB programmes.
