Dr.Mary Hayden
Dr Mary Hayden is Head of the Department of Education and head of the Internationalisation and Globalisation of Education research group at the University of Bath. Prior to moving to Bath she worked for some years for the International Baccalaureate Organization, and her main research interests have continued to relate to the field of international curriculum, international schools and international education. She teaches and supervises Doctoral and Masters students with interests in this area (including those working towards IB Educator Certificates), in which she has also published books and articles. Dr Hayden is Editor in Chief of the Journal of Research in International Education, a member of the Advisory Board for the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), a member of the International Board for the ITEPS (International Teacher Education for Primary Schools) project and a Trustee of the Alliance for International Education.
TEACHER TRAINING AND ONGOING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR IB TEACHERS
This session will focus on how teachers may be prepared to teach IB programmes, as well as on professional development opportunities for those who are already experienced IB teachers. Examples will be drawn on from programmes developed for these purposes by universities working in conjunction with the IB Organization.
